TechLab
In-School After-School Program
At TechLab, we offer after-school programs from September to June, divided into three periods: P1: September–December, P2: January–March, and P3: April–June.
Each course consists of 10–12 weekly sessions, each lasting 1.5 hours.
Our Foundation Program focuses on Robotics, Coding, and 3D Printing, culminating in a showcase of student achievements. The Elite Program prepares school representative teams for competitions at various levels.
Robotics: VEX
At TechLab, our VEX Robotics course offers students an immersive experience in designing, building, and programming robots using the VEX platform.
Through hands-on projects, students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, while learning the fundamentals of engineering and programming. The course encourages teamwork and creativity, as students collaborate to overcome challenges and optimize their robotic designs.
By engaging in this comprehensive curriculum, participants gain a solid foundation in robotics, preparing them for future technological pursuits and fostering a passion for innovation.
Coding: Scratch and Python
At TechLab, our Coding course introduces students to the fundamentals of programming through two versatile languages: Scratch and Python.
Beginning with Scratch, a visual, block-based language, students grasp core programming concepts by creating interactive stories and games. As they progress, learners transition to Python, a powerful, text-based language, to develop more complex applications. This structured approach not only enhances logical thinking and problem-solving abilities but also provides a solid foundation for future technological pursuits.
By engaging with both languages, students experience a comprehensive coding education that fosters creativity and prepares them for advanced programming challenges.
3D Printing: TinkerCAD
At TechLab, our 3D Printing course introduces students to the world of digital fabrication using Tinkercad, a user-friendly, web-based 3D design tool. Participants learn to create and manipulate 3D models, transforming their imaginative concepts into tangible objects. The course emphasizes spatial reasoning, design thinking, and technical skills, guiding students through the entire process—from initial idea to final printed product.
By engaging in hands-on projects, learners develop creativity and problem-solving abilities, gaining practical experience in additive manufacturing.
This comprehensive curriculum provides a solid foundation in 3D design and printing, preparing students for future technological endeavors and fostering a passion for innovation.
Elite Competition Training
At TechLab, our Elite Program is dedicated to organizing and training school representative teams for prestigious competitions such as the VEX Robotics Competition and the Scratch Olympiad.
Through this program, students enhance their technical proficiency, strategic planning, and teamwork skills, preparing them to excel at city, provincial, national, and international levels. Participation in these competitions not only fosters immense pride among students but also bolsters the school's reputation for technological excellence.
Moreover, engaging in competitive robotics and coding challenges promotes the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, providing students with valuable experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
